THE EMAIL ALTERNATIVES to Emailing Teachers Direct are...
Generic mailings, in which the mail is sent to the school's general address such as admin@myschool.co.uk or info@thatschool.co.uk These have the benefit of reaching more schools, but the readership rate drops because not all emails are forwarded, and the take up rate is lower because the readers have not subscribed to the service.
Shared emails. The difference between printed shared mailings and shared email comes in the way in which the service operates. In direct mail the pack goes to the administrator and is then split up between the relevant teachers. With emails, the teacher gets all the emails and is expected to read all of them. to find something interesting. As a result shared emails seem to get a low response rate, while being the most expensive form of email advertising.
